splash of color!

Wanted to share this splash of summer color from the garden! Just a reminder that no one can make color to rival that of mother nature. Enjoy as there probably won't be many more now that we're heading straight into fall.

Umbrellas of Cherboug

Here's a movie that follows Barney's theory on people dressing like their interiors. I love this film for the fashion and the amazing interiors- I can't think of another film that is filled with this much color and pattern.

Tina Barney Spring 2010 Photo Shoot

I came upon this as I was trying to find a Tina Barney interview online. This behind the scenes look at Tina Barney shooting Spring 2010 for Tory Burch is such a great clip. I love to hear them discussing how people often dress the way they decorate their interiors, such an interesting thought.

Some very stylish girls

Posting a photo from the shoot we did in July for the 2011 Spring/Summer collection. I was obsessed with the bright orange that's scattered around throughout the mall downtown in Omaha, as it went quite nicely with the collection I think.

Phoenix - Lisztomania Official Video

Music vido of Lisztomania- the song the girls walked to at the OFW show last week. I love this song and video chronicling the "Lisztomania", the craze (it was literally a strange phenomenon) and following that swept across Europe in 1840's over German composer Franz Liszt.

I had to share this adorable letterpress card I found on etsy the other day. I'm giving it to someone special for their bridal shower that's coming up very soon!

Zeitgeist Films :: Bill Cunningham New York :: the Trailer

Finally got to see this great Documentary on Bill Cunningham while playing at The Ross theater the other day. A great glimpse into this amazing man and his work capturing style for the New York Times on the streets of New York.

Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty | The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty | The Metropolitan Museum of Art

I was very fortunate to be visiting NYC while the Alexander McQueen exhibit was going on at The Met. It is an outstanding exhibition of his work- he had a truly amazing imagination matched by a talent to bring his ideas to be.

There's some great excerpts from McQueen's runway shows with narration by The Met's Costume Institute curator Andrew Bolton on the museum blog.

Christian Lacroix and the Tale of Sleeping Beauty

Had to share this beautiful and charming book I was gifted by a friend for my birthday. Illustrated by Christian Lacroix my favorite fashion designer! I love the fluid lines in his sketching and it also includes illustrations made of collaging that Lacroix seems to have such an affinity for.

LACMA- Urban Light

This was my first visit to the LACMA while visiting L.A. and I loved it so much! I can't wait to go back, I didn't have enough time to get to everything I wanted to see. I'm also going to make sure to hang out in the courtyard restaurant/bar photographed here by Chris Burden's Urban Light installation, what a lovely place to relax and enjoy this landmark work of art.

L.A.- Plaid on the street

Visited a good friend in L.A. this past week over spring break! One of my favorite things about L.A. is the retro kitsch that can be found throughout the city often showing up on street signs and the building decor.

A few of my favorite things- Movies that inspire style

Clue- The movie: Very stylish suspects

I love Gilligan's Island and not just for its camp humor. I'm pretty sure there has never been as stylish a bunch of shipwrecked people as these!
